APPLYING FOR A CANADA STUDENT VISA

When planning to pursue studies in Canada, obtaining a Canadian study permit, also referred to as a student visa, is a requisite step. These permits enable you to study in Canada and, in some cases, work during your studies.

To apply for a study permit, you must submit a completed application along with any required supporting documents. Your study goals and intentions in Canada will also be assessed during the process.

In addition, under the new system, study permit applicants will now require both a
Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) to apply to IRCC for their study permit. In most cases, if you apply without a PAL, your application will be returned with fees. Furthermore, the allocation of permits to each province or territory will now be determined based on their respective populations.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDY PERMIT:

You are enrolled at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)

You must show proof of having enough funds to pay for tuition fees, living expenses, and the costs of returning to your home country when your studies are completed

Obey the law, have no criminal record and get a police certificate (if required)

You are in good health and get a medical exam (if required)

Prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your study permit expires
